Actress and politician Hema Malini landed into controversy when she wished several states a happy harvest season and made a huge blunder when she referred to Bihu as Bihar’s New Year.
Bihu is the start of the Assamese New Year and soon after this, she was criticised by netizens for being publically wrong. Today, the Dream Girl actress shared an apology tweet and corrected herself.
The 74-year-old actress wrote, “By mistake I have put Bihu is a festival celebrated in Bihar. I am sorry! That should read Bihu, festival of Assam.”
On the occasion of Baisakhi, Malini sent good wishes to everyone on Twitter and wrote, “It is the Harvest season now. Tamizh Puthandu (New year), Baisakhi (Punjab), Bihu (Bihar) and Pohela Baisakh or Naba Barsha (Bengal) are some of the festivals celebrated. Wish you all a wonderful festival month.”
On the work front, Malini is not seen much in movies but is focusing more on her political career. She was last seen in the 2020 film Shimla Mirch.
